Lacy Katherine Strong’s unique compositions carry audiences through dreamy soundscapes, lush tones and ethereal sonic fields. Trained in classical piano from the age of 6, Strong was initially introduced to music through structured training paving the way for her to develop a keen ear for sound.

It wasn’t until 2015 when she moved abroad teaching English and studying art in Paris and Berlin over the course of 5 years that she was first exposed to more experimental methods of composition such as musique concrète. Surrounded by European language, history and culture, she was struck by the works of avant-garde artists of the early 20th century such as Magritte, Hausmann and Schiele, where she also finds much of her inspiration.

Piecing together her varied collection of influences, Strong in turn possess a well-rounded approach to composition, accurately relating sound to the human experience. With a thirst for evoking emotion, enhancing ambience and creating an ephemeral experience for audiences through sound, she admires the work of Brian Eno, Ennio Morricone and Jóhann Jóhannsson.

After a long stay in Europe she splits her time between New York City and her native land of Austin, Texas while still holding on to wanderlust. She composes and designs sound for film, TV, podcasts and theatre in her home studio.
